I feel like I just high fived an orgasm

Sun Jun 14, 2009, 6:06 PM
I feel great. I went 50-something hours without sleeping a few days back. Not as bad as I thought it would be. After my exams I am going for 70+. It will be a party. After my prolonged anti-Slumber I decided to finally read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter S. Thompson. The diary of a drug riddled trip through Nevada, and it is honestly probably my favourite book. The way he wrote is just so different, it was a refreshing change.

That is why I am writing this journal, I have come for suggestions. I am really getting into the "Beat Generation" writers.

So. Any suggestions as to what to read next?

anything by that man, so beautiful.

if you get the chance to get your hands on "abarat" by clive barker, those are great fantasy books.

if you want to read something with a lasting message, you could read mutant message. the first few chapters are hella boring, but the rest of the book is gold. its about the Australian aborigines, and this chick that gets dragged into the wilderness and lives with them for 3 months.

I am interested in very few writers in general, but if you want to read a well written horror novel I would recommend Stephen King.

I read his book about Bikers.
I also suggest Thomas Wolfe's "The Electric Koolaid Acid Test" [link]
ANY book by Kurt Vonnegut is ALWAYS going to be worthwhile.
Can't we CLONE him?
I want more books, and the guy is too busy being dead.

You should read "Trainspotting" by Irvine Welsh. You may have seen the thing of awesomeness that is the movie, but the book is bettttar.

Also, "Marabou Stork Nightmares" by the same guy is the shizz.
